We are almost at the end of another school term – and this has been a particularly busy one as we prepare for our Corn Exchange Concert. Everyone has been rehearsing extremely hard and we are looking forward to staging a spectacular concert. We’ll put a selection of photographs on our website over the Easter holidays so please keep an eye out for these.
The summer term looks to be just as busy with another full day of examinations for pupils from Pre-Primary, Primary and Grades 2 and 8.
Please could I remind you to ensure your daughter’s hair is plaited, put in a bun or pulled back in a pony tail for all classes. As you know, this is the accepted hair style of the ballet dancer and is part of the discipline of this art form. In addition it enables one to see the children’s faces and necks.
It will also help the smooth running of the lessons if you would check your child’s toilet requirements before the start of class.
The fees and dates for next term are given on the attached sheet. Fees should be paid within the first two weeks of term. Please note that there are no lessons in half term which is week beginning Monday 26 May.
I hope you all have an enjoyable Easter break and I look forward to seeing everyone again next term.

Dear Parents,
If you would like your daughter to enter the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Grade 2 Examination it will require her to attend extra coaching classes.
These will take place at Ceewood Hall in Tower Hill on Saturday mornings from 12.15pm – 1.00pm, starting on 26 April and lasting for 9 weeks. The cost of these classes will be £36.00. Please note that this is in addition to the RAD Examination Entrance Fee of £40.00.
If your daughter would not like to take the Examination or is unable to attend the extra lessons then they may still enter the RAD Presentation Class. This does not require any extra lessons and the cost will be simply the RAD entrance fee of £32.00.
If your daughter would like to enter the Examination or the Presentation Class then please return the form to Angela as soon as possible and in any case no later than Monday 21 April.
The Examination and Presentation will both take place on Saturday 28 June at Ceewood Hall.
Grade 2 Examinations & Presentations
This is the first stage of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations where the RAD will send an examiner to assess the children. For these first stage examinations, the teacher is permitted to accompany the children into the examination room to give them confidence.
The fee for these Pre-Primary Presentations is £27.00. This fee includes the pianist, hall hire and administrative costs involved with running these presentations. Each child will receive a certificate confirming they have reached the RAD standard for this level.
If you would like your child to take part, please return the attached form by Monday 21 April 2008. Unfortunately the RAD will not accept late entries, not will it refund the entry fee for children who have entered but cannot attend the presentation.
In order to enter this RAD Presentation, your daughter will need to move back to a Pre-Primary Refresher Class for the summer term only. These classes will take place on Saturday’s from 9.15am – 10.0am or 10.0am – 10.45am.
The Presentation will take place on Saturday 28 June at Ceewood Hall.
