Summer Newsletter 2015

Dear Parents

We hope that you have all enjoyed a well-earned summer break and are ready to return in September suitably refreshed!

Unfortunately Lucy is no longer teaching for us as she has been offered a position with her former ballet school in Swindon, which is obviously better for her as regards travelling.  We are currently advertising for a replacement for Lucy, particularly someone who can help with the higher grades.  This does mean that there are minor changes to the timetable for next term, and one major change which is the 4.30 to 5.15pm primary class on Tuesdays at Ceewood Hall which we have had to move to 3.45 to 4.30pm on Wednesdays.  Please check the timetable carefully to make sure that you know of any changes affecting your child’s class, and contact me as soon as possible if these changes present a problem for you.  The new term will start on Saturday, 12th September to allow for the examinations taking place on 5th December, which is at the very end of our term.

We have provisionally booked Henry Box School for our next show and are awaiting confirmation from them at the start of term.  Hopefully the show will take place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March, with rehearsals also taking place on Sunday 13th and Friday 18th March so please keep these dates free if you wish your child to take part.

We seem to have gathered a lot of lost property over the last couple and terms and would like to reunite some of the items with their owners.  The lost property will be on display in the room at the back of Ceewood Hall during the first week of term.  Please check if any of the items belong to you as everything will be disposed of at the end of that week.

At the end of the summer term we still had well over £1000 outstanding in unpaid fees.  This makes it very difficult for us to work as a business as we have to pay all the hire fees for the halls in advance of each term.  Whilst I do not wish to go down the ‘no fees, no lesson’ route, I do need to have all fees paid in full by the end of each term, unless a prior arrangement has been made with me personally.  I have tried to make things easier for parents by allowing payments to be made in instalments throughout the term, and I know that this is appreciated, as most of the other schools do not allow this. If you still have any outstanding fees, could you please send a cheque made out to Windrush School of Ballet to me at 14 Heath Lane, Bladon, Oxford, OX20 1SB or you can pay via bank transfer at:

Natwest sort code:  55-81-35
Windrush School of Ballet account number:  89001389

I look forward to seeing you all again next term.

Best wishes

Pat Clapton
