Summer Newsletter 2014

Dear Parents

We hope that you are enjoying your summer holidays and making the most of the lovely weather we have been experiencing over the past few weeks.  We are now looking forward to the autumn term when we will be preparing nearly 70 pupils for their RAD examinations, so it is going to be a very busy time for us.

We must apologise to those of you who ordered a photo CD from the last show.  We are still waiting for them to come through to us, but will make sure that everyone who ordered gets their copy as soon as they arrive.

A timetable is attached for next term.  The main change is that we no longer offer classes in Combe, but have extra classes at Davenport Road Methodist Church on Wednesdays instead.  Please check the timetable carefully for your particular classes as there have also been some changes to timings etc for classes in Hailey and Ceewood Hall.

We plan to do another workshop with Michael Berkin but have decided to have this in the spring term, as the period leading up to Christmas is very hectic for all our pupils, and especially so this coming term.

We would like to thank everyone who donated to the Blue Skye Thinking collection at the show in April in aid of Skye Hall, whose mother was a pupil of mine for many years.  A total of £500 was collected over the two days – a wonderful result.  Also thanks go to all those who bought cakes in aid of Lisa’s Race for Life at the end of last term.  A total of £138 was collected for this charity, so well done everyone, and well done to Lisa for taking part.

I am continuing to mentor a Royal Academy of Dance student next term – Lucy will be taking a number of classes during the term under my supervision.

Could we please request that fees are paid on time.  We had a significant number of unpaid fees at the end of last term and whilst we are always willing to come to some arrangement if there is any hardship regarding payment, it makes it difficult for us to balance the books and pay hall hire fees in advance when large sums are outstanding.  If you pay your fees via bank transfer you can do so in instalments to suit yourself, providing the full amount is paid by the end of term.  Also if you have more than one child attending classes or you are paying for exams and coaching on top of the fees, these can be split into two or three payments if requested.

We look forward to seeing you all in the autumn term that starts on Monday 8th September.

Best wishes.
