Summer Newsletter 2018

Dear Parents

We hope you have had a lovely Easter and are looking forward to returning to ballet this term.

A timetable is attached - please check carefully to see if there are any changes that affect your child. Please also note that our term starts on Monday 16th April 2018.

There will be classes as normal on Monday 7th May (bank holiday) and hopefully everyone will be able to attend on that day. There will be one additional lesson this term for the Friday classes who were affected by the snow last term and two additional lessons for the Saturday classes, again for the snow and also to compensate for the examination day in June.

We would like to congratulate all those candidates who took their examinations in March. They all worked very hard to achieve their results, and we will notify them as soon as these are received. Our provisional date for the exams this term is Saturday 16th June and if your child is to be entered you will receive a letter shortly - as you will see in the letter, there has again been an increase in the examination entry fees by the RAD. The coaching classes will commence the first week of term.

I am delighted to say that Lucy Jefferies will be joining me for some classes this term. Lucy is a qualified RAD teacher and I’m sure many of you will remember her from a couple of years ago when I was her mentor and as part of her teaching course she helped with quite a few of my classes. We will also have Penny who teaches our adult beginner’s class and some of the younger children and my granddaughter Heather, who is helping me with teaching on Saturdays.

If you still have any outstanding fees, could you please send me a cheque, with immediate effect, made out to Windrush School of Ballet, to 14 Heath Lane, Bladon, Oxford, OX20 1SB or you can pay via bank transfer at:

Natwest sort code: 55-81-35
Windrush School of Ballet account number: 89001389

I look forward to seeing you all again next term.

Best wishes

There will be extra coaching classes for pupils entering the RAD Grade 1 examinations.

These will take place at Ceewood Hall from 11.30 – 12.15, starting on Saturday 6 January and lasting for seven weeks up to half term. At a later date there will be a rehearsal with the pianist.

I have kept the cost of these extra classes as low as possible. They will cost £20 per child and this fee should be paid to our Administrator Angela as soon as possible.

The examination will take place on Saturday 31 March. The time will be given at a later date.

If you have any queries I can be contacted on 01993 812177.
