Dear Parents
Our Spring show at Henry Box School on Saturday 5th April at 6.00pm and Sunday 6th April at 2.00pm and 6.00pm is fast approaching and all the information required for rehearsals and performances is detailed in this letter. Please read it through and let me know if you have any queries or concerns. A full rehearsal schedule is attached and I would be grateful if you could let me know as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend any of the rehearsals.
The Pre-Primary and Primary classes will only be involved in the following performances:
Friday Pre-Primary, Combe Pre-Primary & Combe Primary - Saturday 5th at 6.00pm
Tuesday Pre-Primary, Hailey Pre-Primary & Tuesday Primary - Sunday 6th at 2.00pm
Saturday Primary – Sunday 6th at 6.00pm.
Tickets are £10 for adults and £7 for children – please complete the ticket order form available from Pat or Lisa, and either hand it in at lessons or apply online here. Once payment has been received your tickets will be given to you at your next lesson. Please note that seats for the performances will not be numbered and we cannot reserve seats in the hall.
During the concert and rehearsals at Henry Box your child will need to be happy to stay back stage with the supervision that we will provide. There is no room in the hall or backstage for parents to wait for their children, so please let us know as soon as possible if you feel that your child will be unable to take part.
You will be told which dressing room your child is using for the performances when they come to the rehearsal on the 30th March, and there will also be somebody to show you where to go on the day of the performance. When you bring your child to the dressing room you will be given a ticket with your child’s name – whoever collects the child will need to hand this ticket back so that we know that all children have been safely collected. During the interval Pre-Primary pupils should be collected from their dressing rooms and can spend the second half of the performance in the audience with their parents.
After each performance could parents please wait in the auditorium until the children are ready to be collected, as there will be no room backstage for parents to wait. If you have put your name down to help you will get instructions from Lisa who is organising the list of helpers. Please note that when you are helping it will not be possible for you to enter the auditorium to watch parts of the show as the room is very limited. If you wish to see your child performing, you will need to purchase tickets. We try to keep the cost to parents to a minimum, for example by providing all the costumes, and the only way we can cover the expenditure is by selling tickets, so we would be very grateful for your support with regard to this.

Please ensure that your child arrives promptly so that they are ready to dance at the start of their rehearsal. They should also arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of each performance to give them time to get ready. Their hair should be in a bun at the base of the neck if possible – we can do this if necessary when they arrive. Every child will need to bring a red lipstick and hairbrush, labelled with their name, and it would help if you could put your child’s name in their ballet shoes.
After the dress rehearsal on the 5th April your child should return home for a rest. If this is not possible, they will need to bring a light tea. Those children involved in all performances will also need to bring a packed tea on Sunday 6th as they will stay at Henry Box between the two performances. There will be adequate supervision on both days. Any child wishing to go into town between performances will need to bring written permission from their parents, otherwise they will not be allowed to leave the building.
